The Monastery of Agios Nikolaos Siamades is located in the province of Kalambaka, to the right of the road Hani Murgkani-Kastania (at a distance of about 2 km from the main road).

From the complex of the monastery only the katholikon has survived, which dates back to 1807, as evidenced by a lithographic inscription on the outer western wall of the church, and is dedicated to St. Nicholas. It is an Athonite-style, four-aisled church with a porch and with remarkable frescoes, which are dated by inscription to 1821.

The monastery, according to tradition, was originally built in the same area but in a different location in a higher and more northerly area.

The inscription informs us that the monastery was built by “Hieromonkichos Germanos”. The interior of the katholikon is painted with impressive hagiographies, as is the impressive dome of the katholikon, which is circular on the inside and octagonal on the outside with a narrow rectangular window on each side. Equally impressive is the iconostasis which, as a relief inscription testifies, is the work of the master craftsman Dimitris from Metsovo in the year 1815 during the archpriesthood of Stagios Gabriel.
