The wider area of Meteora Geopark is characterized by important elements of intangible cultural heritage, mainly related to folk events, food habits, customs, music, dance and traditional professions. The communities of stakeholders of the living tradition of the region have expressed their support for the candidacy of the Meteora Geopark and their intention to cooperate in order to plan and implement actions for the promotion and preservation of the intangible cultural heritage of the region. In particular, the planned actions aim to recognise the value of living tradition in order to ensure that it can be passed on to younger generations, always through the prism of conscious or not choice. The management of natural resources, development while preserving cultural diversity and improving biodiversity are objectives that can be achieved through the involvement of local society, intangible heritage operators and public administration support. In this direction, the Management Entity of Meteora Geopark, in cooperation with the communities of intangible cultural heritage operators of the area, has developed the following set of actions with a four-year horizon, at which time the results will be evaluated, reassessed and adjusted.
