As part of the European Geoparks Week 2024, students from the wider area, along with visitors and tourists, participated in a series of activities organized by the Municipality of Pyli at various outdoor locations throughout the Pyli- Meteora Geopark. The event included interactive sessions about the significance of the geopark, its history, and the importance of preserving its natural resources. Children and participants had the opportunity to create art from recyclable materials, engage in environmental games such as a treasure hunt focused on the park’s geological features, and take part in workshops to create herb gardens with local plants. The day concluded with a hike along the park’s trails and tree planting, where young and old alike pledged to preserve and protect this unique geological site.
