Winery Liakou

The winery and the vineyards of Winery LIAKOU are located at an altitude of 470 meters, and make the best use of the grapes of the privately owned vineyards and cooperating producers of the Meteora region, which are less than three kilometers from our winery, thus ensuring the direct transport of the grapes to the place of production. The grapes are cooled for 24 hours in a cold chamber to protect and preserve their organoleptic characteristics. Drainage is carried out at an altitude of four metres in order to take advantage of the natural gravity and avoid the use of mechanical pumps. Vinification takes place in stainless steel fermentation and stabilisation tanks, with a controlled cooling system. After fermentation, the wine is taken to the underground cellars for ageing, and placed in French oak barrels, selected for the appropriate vinification of each variety.

Liakos winery is open to visits by wine lovers and all those who want to get to know the magical world of wine. The visit includes a short tour of the vineyard, as well as a guided tour of the production, bottling, and aging areas. Visitors also have the opportunity to taste the estate’s wines in a special room.
